Zhou Xun was dissatisfied with Deng Chao’s "too serious"

Li Mi’s Conjecture, a romantic suspense originally scheduled for release at the Qixi Festival, had to be postponed to September 19 due to temporary processing by director Cao Baoping. The film’s stars, Zhou Xun and Deng Chao, made simultaneous appearances in Beijing yesterday to participate in the launch ceremony of the film’s "Shining Love Action" held nationwide. Speaking of his feelings about working with Deng Chao for the first time, Zhou Xun "directly scolded" Deng Chao for being too serious in acting.

In the film, Zhou Xun plays a female taxi driver named Li Mi. Four years ago, Li Mi, who is married, broke up with his close lover Fang Wen (played by Deng Chao) due to the opposition of his parents. Then, Fang Wen left in anger. For four years, Li Mi has been looking for Fang Wen. Occasionally, a drug trafficking case involves the two people. Li Mi and the anti-drug police Ye Qingcheng (played by Zhang Hanyu) mistakenly look for their disappeared fiancé.

Speaking of this rather suspenseful love story, Zhou Xun, who thinks he is a little emotional, gave the reporter a vivid analogy, "I like this script very much. In it, Li Mi’s experience of finding her boyfriend is like encountering a’plane delay ‘. She (Li Mi) doesn’t know what time to take off, she doesn’t know when her boyfriend will appear, and she doesn’t know when he will be completely disconnected. But it is this suspense and her own firm belief that really gives Li Mi great energy." And Deng Chao attributed Li Mi’s magical "power" to loving too hard. "Li Mi only relies on letters without any mailing address to contact her beloved boyfriend and tries to find him. The reason can only be that they both love too hard and too persistent. Otherwise, I can’t explain her motivation."

Deng Chao and Zhou Xun, who were working together for the first time in a film and television drama, talked about each other at work, but they lost a lot of greetings and care like "first meeting", but they were not satisfied with each other. Zhou Xun described Deng Chao as a strict teacher, and she described: "Seeing Deng Chao usually looks cynical, but as soon as he acts, he becomes a different person. He is very strict with himself, reciting lines, finding feelings, and being serious everywhere, which makes me nervous when I play against him, and I am afraid that I will not play well." Hearing Zhou Xun’s "complaints", Deng Chao seemed a little innocent, and even brought up his girlfriend Sun Li for comparison: "I have always been like this, and my impression is even scarier when I play against Sun Li. The whole script is marked with colored pens where I am emotionally invested, which makes me very stressed." (Yu Shuwen/Photo)
