[XCAR official map analysis original]
As a heavyweight model of Honda brand, Accord officially released the official picture of the 2013 model last week. At the same time, the 2013 model is also the ninth generation model in the Accord. The official map released this time shows us two models: one is the ordinary four-door sedan version, and the other is the Coupe version which is very similar to the concept version of the Accord coupe released by Honda at the Detroit Auto Show earlier this year. Among them, the four-door sedan version will be officially made in China next year. Below we will give a detailed introduction to the two models.

Judging from the official pictures, the overall design style of the ninth-generation Honda Accord continues the stability of the eighth-generation model, but also highlights the sports style. The design of the front face is more passionate, and there are many changes compared with the eighth generation models.
First of all, let’s look at the changes in the air intake grille. The ninth generation of Accord still uses a double-width chrome-plated air intake grille, but the difference with the eighth generation is that it adopts a horizontal design. At the same time, the upper chrome-plated decorative strip was also cancelled, while the wide U-shaped chrome-plated decorative strip added below was connected with the engine cover in response to the headlights. The lines on the inner side of the U-shaped chrome-plated decorative strip also extend upward to the hood, forming two protruding rib lines, which makes the strength of the front of the car feel spontaneously.
The new headlight design is more slender than the eighth generation model, and the internal structure of the headlight has also changed, and LED daytime running lights have also been added.
The design of the front bumper is also very clear and concise, and the redesigned rectangular fog light is clearly distinguished from the black honeycomb lower air intake grille to form an integral area.
When we come to the side of the car body, we can find that the slightly dry side line of the car body on the eighth generation model has disappeared, and it has been replaced by a line design that highlights the outline. In addition, the turn signal integrated in the exterior rearview mirror is designed to be slimmer, which is similar to the hidden design.
The most prominent point in the reinterpretation of the tail is the design of the taillights. The brand-new taillights still use red and white color matching design, and LED light sources are added inside the lamp group. The tail light group extending to the trunk lid makes the tail more atmospheric and stable.
The newly added chrome-plated decorative strip above the license plate frame connects the taillights, which makes the tail feel luxurious. At the same time, the design of the rear bumper is more concise than that of the eighth generation models, eliminating complicated lines and feeling more solid. Slim reflective strips are also added above the exhaust pipes with single outlet on both sides to improve the safety during driving.
In terms of wheels, the nine-generation Accord model adopts ten-spoke aluminum alloy wheels, which is more restrained than the seven-spoke aluminum alloy wheels of the eight-generation model.
