Tank brands are constantly pushing new cars, while constantly updating existing models. For example, there are already several versions of 2.0T and 3.0T V6 fuel and 2.0T Hi4-T blended. This time, the diesel version that many people expect appears on the website of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology together with the new 2.0T gasoline version. Let’s take a look at the differences between this new car.

From the appearance, it has not changed much, and it is still a classic square box shape. The front of the car is a rectangular air intake grille with retro round lights. The front bumper is wide and strong, and there are many styles to choose from. In addition, an electric winch can be installed, and the cover is raised. The whole front face is quite tough.

The sides are straight and square, the front and rear wheel covers are decorated in black, and the convex design is made to enhance the off-road atmosphere. The vehicle adopts a non-load-bearing body structure with high ground clearance, and the sides are equipped with pedals and 17 and 18-inch wheels. There are three 6-spoke styles to choose from, and tyre size is 265/65R17 and 265/60R18.

The rear of the car adopts the design of side-opening tailgate+external full-size spare tire. The taillights are arranged vertically, and the rear bumper is also very strong. It is equipped with two trailer hooks, providing 750 kg (without braking) and 2500 kg (with braking) towing qualification. The trailer square hole and electric connector can be installed optionally. The new car supports the optional roof rack, and the skylight for many people is also optional, which is worthy of recognition.

The length of the car is 4750(4775) mm, the width of the car is 1930 mm, the height is 1903(1927) mm, and the wheelbase is 2750 mm. The size is small and the wheelbase is moderate. This size cooperates with the non-load-bearing body structure and can have good passability. The approach angle of the new car is 33 degrees, and the maximum departure angle is 34(30) degrees, which is the same as that of the cash.

Equipped with a 2.4T diesel engine, the maximum power is 137 kW (186 HP). This powertrain is actually not unfamiliar in Great Wall’s product system, except that it is equipped on a tank model for the first time. Referring to the powertrain of Great Wall pickup truck, the peak torque of this engine should be 480 Nm, and the torque will come faster by adopting the variable cross-section turbine technology. The transmission system should also be matched with the 9AT gearbox developed by Great Wall and the part-time 4wd system.

The shape and dimensions of the new 2.0T gasoline version are the same as those of the diesel version, but the powertrain has changed. The maximum power of the 2.0T engine is 167 kW (227 HP), and the peak torque is 387 Nm, which matches the 8AT gearbox from ZF.

In terms of chassis suspension, both models are front and rear multi-link integral bridge non-independent suspensions, and it is expected that front and rear axle differential locks will be provided.

The interior of the new tank 300 has also been adjusted. According to the spy photos exposed before, the interior of the new model has abandoned the current dual-screen design and replaced it with a full LCD instrument and a large-size floating central control panel. The air outlet of the air conditioner is still in a round style. A large number of physical buttons and knobs are retained in the car, and the cash gear handle is cancelled, which should be replaced with a bosom gear.

Other parts haven’t changed much. The steering wheel has been changed into a double-spoke style. Off-road handles are still provided above the left and right A-pillars and the passenger glove box, and the materials for the interior are kept at the current level.

The advantages of diesel vehicles are low fuel consumption and large torque, especially at low speed. Coupled with the variable cross-section turbine technology, the torque will break out faster and earlier, and the power will be more abundant. It will also have more advantages for vehicle control in some extreme road conditions, but the disadvantages are also obvious. Adding urea will make noise and jitter. However, in general, diesel power will give consumers one more choice, and some consumers will always have this demand.
